WestonArts Auditorium Seat Campaign |
|
WITH YOUR HELP, WE DID IT!
WestonArts met the goal of raising $300,000 for the Weston High School Auditorium renovation on April 15, 2008. A subsequent town vote appropriated about $700,000 additional funds to the auditorium project, bringing the budget to a little over $2,000,000. The renovation began in June and the Town of Weston Building Committee hopes to see the project completed by the end of 2008. Theatre Project Consultants of Norwalk, CT, who graciously helped in the early phases of the project with a pro-bono needs assessment study, is part of the team working on this important Town resource, the only true performing arts facility in Town. With the exception of lighting and sound improvements, the auditorium, which was not included in the 2001-2006 $80M school construction project, has remained the same since the 1960's. The funds that WestonArts has raised is being used toward the purchase of new auditorium seats. WestonArts thanks all the generous donors who supported the Seat Campaign. We look to the community for continued support as we move on to other arts-related fundraising during the fall and winter of 2008. |
